I was born in Mercedes the 24th November 1955. I have been painting for more than 20 years now. I studied at the school of Carlos Llano in Argentina and followed the technique developed by Joaquin Torres Garcia. Born in Mercedes, Soriano, Republic of Uruguay the 24th November of 1955. He is a Painter, and has also studied Architecture and Engineering. He also studied Phototransport technique as applied to Graphic Arts. He currently works as a technical drawer.
While living in Argentina, he conducted studies in Constructive Art and Painting in Buenos Aires at the studio of the painter Carlos Llanos, former student of the Master JOAQUIN TORRES GARCIA.
He begun with his painting exhibitions in Buenos Aires:

After returning to Uruguay he presented collectively at:

The Culture House of Mercedes (1985, 1991, 1993-96)
“Casa Puerta” Art Gallery in Mercedes (1992-96).

exhibition at the “Colon Hotel” in Mercedes, Uruguay (1996).
In 1982, soon after enrolling in the Academy of Art, Oscar Lozano obtained a First Prize in the “Fourth Salon of Painting” organized by the Ward College in Buenos Aires. In the same year he won the “Sixth Annual Contest of Spots” and obtained a mention in the “Free Air Painting Competition” in the popular Ateneo of La Boca, Buenos Aires. He obtained a prize in the “Second Salon of Painting” organized by the Bank of the Republic, Uruguay in 1985 and he gained a special mention in the “Plastic Arts Salon”, Uruguay in 1987.
His paintings were also selected in the “Sixth Cereals Plastic Art” in Buenos Aires (1982), the “Autumn Salon” (1983), the “Fifth Painting Salon” in the Ward College (1983), in “The Inca National Painting Competition”, Uruguay (1985) and the “First National Salon of Painting and Drawing”, Uruguay (1985) and the “Third National Salon of Painting”, Uruguay (1986).
One of his noted contributions has been participating in the construction of a miniature model of the city of Mercedes (Uruguay) as it was in 1834, as homage to the city in its bi-centenary.
His commitments in life made him want to share his knowledge and experience in art of painting and therefore he has worked as a Secondary School teacher for the Drawing Subject and joined the “Enrique Guarnero” theatre group as a stenographer.
Lozano is currently living in Mercedes, Uruguay and some of his paintings are exhibited at the local Art gallery. More than 15 of his paintings have been privately sold to Argentinean, Uruguayans residents and some of them to European tourists.
